The residence of Virtual Architect Edward Ballinger in Second Life
Creating Art is like a voyage of
discovery, like going where you
have never gone before, and that
is when the going gets good.

ABOUT ARTNOTES:
Would you like to have a personal Muse?
I’d like to offer you a source of inspiration in the form of my new project, ARTNOTES.
My ARTNOTES consists of art in both the real and virtual worlds (such as Second Life) which I find exciting and which makes me, well, want to do art! And when I say art, I include painting, architecture, writing, theater, photography, media, music, design, installations, environments, cave paintings and more, as you will see. ARTNOTES will be eclectic, global, and both historical and contemporary. If work inspires me, it gets a post, whether it is a 23,000 year old fertility goddess or a farm done as an art installation.
Poet Richard Brautigan tells a story about visiting a friend for an evening of sharing their work, and one poem in particular struck him like lightening. Brautigan says that he was overcome with a compelling desire to run home and write. There are lots of stories like this, when our Muse speaks and we can only do her bidding and create.
ARTNOTES presents works by artists both in the real and virtual worlds who inspire me, brighten up my life, put fire in my belly and make me want to play. My hope is that the offerings can do the same for you, and lift you into a place where you are open to fresh ideas, and feel stirred to get to work. Why not designate 2015 as your year of art?
In its essence, I think of ARTNOTES as a set of doors, doors opening into new worlds of beauty, creativity, delight and astonishment. I believe we all want to be amazed by the genius of others, and by the joy that comes through any art of value.
So I look for genius and grab it when I find it.
Need to brighten your day, and wake up your inner artist? Come visit! And have fun!
Blessings,
Alex
PS: Your suggestions as to favorite artists who inspire you are always welcome! Post in the Comment section of ARTNOTES.
